Le chlore se combine avec des compos\u00e9s contenant de l\u2019azote pour former des chloramines, pendant lesquelles seule une partie du chlore sera utilis\u00e9e tandis que le reste restera actif, poursuivant son action d\u00e9sinfectante.<\/p>\n<p>Le chlore combin\u00e9 est la quantit\u00e9 de chlore qui s\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 combin\u00e9e avec des compos\u00e9s contenant de l\u2019azote. Il est beaucoup moins efficace comme d\u00e9sinfectant que le chlore libre. L\u2019addition de chlore combin\u00e9 et de chlore libre donne le chlore total. Un gestionnaire de piscine doit viser l\u2019\u00e9quilibre parfait o\u00f9 le chlore libre et total est proportionnellement \u00e9gal, et ainsi maintenir les niveaux de chlore combin\u00e9 proches de z\u00e9ro. La pr\u00e9sence de chloramines n\u2019est pas souhaitable en raison de l\u2019odeur particuli\u00e8re de la piscine ainsi que de l\u2019irritation des yeux et des muqueuses provoqu\u00e9e par les chlores combin\u00e9s comme les dichloramines.<\/p>\n<p>Le chlore commercial pour la d\u00e9sinfection peut \u00eatre disponible sous forme de gaz (Cl), d\u2019hypochlorite de sodium de type liquide ou d\u2019eau de Javel (NaOCl) ou \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat solide comme l\u2019hypochlorite de calcium, les chlorohydanto\u00efnes ou les compos\u00e9s d\u2019acide chloroaurique. Ces compos\u00e9s, une fois dissous dans l\u2019eau, \u00e9tablissent un \u00e9quilibre entre l\u2019acide hypochloreux (HOCl) et les ions hypochlorite (OCl\u00af). Bien que les deux formes soient consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme du chlore libre, c\u2019est l\u2019acide hypochloreux qui fournit les caract\u00e9ristiques d\u00e9sinfectantes et oxydantes les plus fortes des solutions chlor\u00e9es. La quantit\u00e9 d\u2019acide hypochloreux dans l\u2019eau chlor\u00e9e d\u00e9pend de la valeur du pH de la solution. En r\u00e8gle g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, un pH d\u2019environ 7,2 est recommand\u00e9 pour maintenir des conditions de d\u00e9sinfection \u00e0 action rapide.<\/p>\n<p>Les concentrations de chlore id\u00e9ales varient selon les conditions de la piscine ou du spa. Le chlore se d\u00e9compose lorsqu\u2019il est expos\u00e9 aux rayons UV. Pour stabiliser le chlore en pr\u00e9sence de lumi\u00e8re UV, de l\u2019acide cyanurique peut \u00eatre ajout\u00e9 aux piscines ext\u00e9rieures. L\u2019avantage du brome r\u00e9side dans sa stabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es (avantageux pour les piscines chauff\u00e9es et les spas), et son pouvoir de d\u00e9sinfection maintenu \u00e0 un pH plus \u00e9lev\u00e9. De plus, il y a tr\u00e8s peu de r\u00e9action entre le brome et les compos\u00e9s azot\u00e9s, ce qui r\u00e9duit les odeurs d\u00e9sagr\u00e9ables et les probl\u00e8mes d\u2019irritation oculaire. Le principal inconv\u00e9nient du brome est la poudre d\u00e9sinfectante \u00e0 action plus lente, ce qui le rend moins adapt\u00e9 aux grandes piscines.<\/p>\n<h2>Ozone<\/h2>\n<p>L\u2019ozone est un oxydant tr\u00e8s puissant qui d\u00e9truit les compos\u00e9s organiques particuli\u00e8rement difficiles \u00e0 oxyder. Il permet au gestionnaire de piscine d\u2019\u00e9liminer tr\u00e8s efficacement le chlore combin\u00e9 sans rafra\u00eechir fr\u00e9quemment de grandes quantit\u00e9s d\u2019eau de piscine. Au moment o\u00f9 l\u2019eau passe \u00e0 travers les unit\u00e9s de filtration, l\u2019ozone a d\u00e9j\u00e0 termin\u00e9 la d\u00e9sinfection et n\u2019est pas affect\u00e9e par le niveau de pH.<\/p>\n<p>En raison principalement de son fort pouvoir oxydant, l\u2019eau de retour peut contenir des traces d\u2019ozone. Si les valeurs d\u2019alcalinit\u00e9 sont suffisamment \u00e9lev\u00e9es, il ne sera pas difficile de contr\u00f4ler le pH. La plupart des gestionnaires de piscines pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent maintenir le pH entre 7,2 et 7,4 pour maintenir au mieux de faibles taux de corrosion et une activit\u00e9 suffisante de chlore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Temp\u00e9rature<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les micro-organismes se d\u00e9veloppent plus rapidement \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es, de sorte que le niveau de d\u00e9sinfection requis pour une piscine ou un spa d\u00e9pend fortement de la temp\u00e9rature de l\u2019eau; ceci est particuli\u00e8rement pr\u00e9occupant pour les piscines et les spas chauff\u00e9s. Une r\u00e8gle g\u00e9n\u00e9rale est que pour chaque augmentation de 5,5 \u00b0 C de la temp\u00e9rature de l\u2019eau au-dessus de 27 \u00b0 C, la concentration du d\u00e9sinfectant requis est doubl\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h2>ORP (Redox)<\/h2>\n<p>Bien que le chlore libre soit une mesure de la quantit\u00e9 de chlore disponible pr\u00e9sente dans l\u2019eau de la piscine et du spa, d\u2019autres propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de l\u2019eau peuvent affecter la capacit\u00e9 de ce chlore \u00e0 se d\u00e9sinfecter correctement. Une concentration suffisante de chlore libre peut \u00eatre pr\u00e9sente dans la solution, mais sur la base de certaines propri\u00e9t\u00e9s, elle peut ne pas \u00eatre efficacement d\u00e9sinfectante. Le potentiel d\u2019oxydor\u00e9duction (ORP) mesure directement la force du potentiel oxydant dans une solution, d\u00e9terminant ainsi l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de l\u2019assainissement. Deux piscines avec la m\u00eame concentration de chlore libre peuvent avoir des valeurs ORP compl\u00e8tement diff\u00e9rentes en fonction du pH, de la concentration d\u2019acide cyanurique et de la temp\u00e9rature. Par cons\u00e9quent, l\u2019ORP est la meilleure indication de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 avec laquelle l\u2019eau de la piscine ou du spa est assainie.
