L&rsquo;objectif principal du traitement des eaux us\u00e9es est d&rsquo;\u00e9liminer les contaminants des eaux us\u00e9es et de les convertir en un effluent qui peut \u00eatre renvoy\u00e9 dans le cycle de l&rsquo;eau. Les caract\u00e9ristiques des boues granulaires sont la tol\u00e9rance aux ingr\u00e9dients toxiques, le maintien du syst\u00e8me redox, la capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;ajuster la charge organique \u00e9lev\u00e9e.
