Tvrda voda nastaje kada voda prodire kroz naslage kre\u010dnjaka, krede ili gipsa, koje se uglavnom sastoje od kalcijumovih i magnezijum karbonata, bikarbonata i sulfata.<\/p>\n<p> Tvrda voda tako\u0111e stvara naslage koje za\u010depljuju vodovod. Ove naslage, zvane \u201ekamenac\u201c, sastoje se uglavnom od kalcijum karbonata (CaCO3), magnezijum hidroksida (Mg(OH)2) i kalcijum sulfata (CaSO4). Kalcijum i magnezijum karbonati te\u017ee da se talo\u017ee kao bele naslage na povr\u0161inama cevi i izmenjiva\u010da toplote.
